OHS Health & Safety Services, Inc., d.b.a., "Occupational Health Services" ("OHS™ ") is a family-owned registered California corporation. Our business was originally started by our son, Rick, in 1991 in Jacksonville, Florida. Under the name "Collections Plus+", Rick provided "on-site" drug and alcohol-abuse specimen collection services and also arranged the on-site performance of Department of Transportation (DOT)-type physical exams for companies that were located primarily in Florida and Georgia.

In 1995, Rick "recruited" his mother and stepfather – California residents - into his business, and it became our "family" business, initially dubbed Pooled Resources, Inc. (a take-off on our family name of "Poole").  Rick, his mother Jean, and "step-daddy Ed" began to offer drug testing and the Third Party Administration ("TPA") management of drug testing services nationally, from both coasts- East and West.

In 1996 we changed our name to OHS Health & Safety Services, Incorporated.  "OHS™" more accurately reflects the varied types of TPA services - in addition to drug testing - our clients had begun to ask us to set-up and manage for them- e.g., physical exams, immunizations, ergonomic surveys, audiometric testing, First Aid and CPR training, OSHA safety audits, OSHA safety training, and so forth. Our expert staff now includes a nationally Board-Certified Occupational Health Physician, who performs all employee physical assessments and also serves as our Medical Review Officer (MRO).

Today, our core business continues to be drug and alcohol-abuse prevention testing (specializing in "on-site" service).  Yet, OHS™ now provides a wider range of health and safety services "on-site" for our clients, too, including health and safety program management. Our clients include small to large companies- local, national, and international in scope. We now administer drug testing or arrange safety programs or health services for companies in all 50 U.S. states, and other parts of the world such as Canada, England, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, The Virgin Islands, The West Indies, and Venezuela.

OHS™ also presents an exclusive "Safety and Health Services Management Training Partner Program" from our international headquarters in Orange County, California. No training programs of this type, quality, and dimension are available anywhere else in the world.

Our DTT Certification Program teaches drug-abuse prevention forensic testing procedure.  Our Partner Program teaches drug-abuse prevention testing and the Third Party Administration ("TPA") of safety programs and health services to qualified individuals from around the globe. Comprehensive training leads to their full certifications as a Screening Test Technician (STT), Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT), and Substance Abuse Testing Professional© (SATP).  OHS™ provides continuing education and training for Program graduates and our OHSP™ International Operations Center operationally supports this "global network" of highly-trained health and safety program managers in their own home markets on a continuing basis.

We are proud of our superlative Partner Program and its growing number of professionally capable graduates.   OHS™  - and our Partners, too - can consistently arrange forensic quality, reliably provided alcohol and drug-abuse prevention testing, safety programs and health services for both our own company clients and for theirs- locally, nationally, and - increasingly - worldwide.

On October 14, 2000 Rick got married to a wonderful lady.  Our new Daughter-in Law, Suzanne, is now the General  Manager of the OHS™ Jacksonville, Florida office.

On August 21, 2002 OHS™ launched a retail enterprise in a Costa Mesa, California major shopping center.  The new venture offers blood draws and deeply discounted laboratory blood test (analysis) services to the general "walk-in" public there and, via a network of contracted clinic nationally, to the general public all throughout the entire United States.  This "personal services" division of OHS™ operates under the d.b.a. of "Health-Tests Direct™".
